This special opportunity allowed students to experience live orchestral music in a professional setting. As the symphony performed, students listened to a variety of musical selections and learned about different instruments, musical styles, and how composers use music to tell stories and express emotions. Seeing the musicians perform up close helped bring classroom learning to life and deepened students’ appreciation for the arts.

The event also provided a wonderful chance for Brookside students to be part of a district-wide experience, connecting with peers from other schools while sharing a love of music. Many students were inspired by the talent and teamwork of the orchestra and left the performance excited to talk about their favorite instruments and moments from the concert.

Field trips like this one support Nebo School District’s commitment to providing meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. The Utah Symphony performance was not only educational but also fun and inspiring, making it a highlight of the year for Brookside Elementary’s fourth graders.
