4th grade at presentation

Our fourth graders recently took part in an informative and interactive Storm Water Presentation designed to help students understand the importance of protecting our community’s water systems. Through hands-on demonstrations and discussion, students learned how everyday materials can become pollutants that harm local waterways.

The presentation highlighted both natural pollutants—such as grass clippings, animal waste, and litter—and chemical pollutants like pesticides, oil, gas, soap, and paint. Students discovered how these substances can enter storm drains and ultimately affect the quality of our drinking water.

By the end of the session, students gained practical strategies for preventing pollution and learned how small, responsible choices can make a big difference in keeping our storm drains clean and our water supply safe.
